Born in Welzheim, Wurttemberg in 1965, I have been involved in genealogical research since 1980. After my studies at the college in Hannover I have been working as a librarian for the historical bookstock of the State and University Library in Goettingen from 1991 to 1996.

Since 1996 I am working as a professional genealogist in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), especially for the former States of Hannover and Braunschweig (Brunswick). While concentrating upon research work on the origins of emigrants to America, Australia and other countries for my English speaking clients I also have published the pre-1700 Lower Saxon Marriage Index for the Celle-Burgdorf-Gifhorn-Wolfsburg-Soltau-Fallingbostel area that often gives important hints in order to find the oldest place of origin of a family.

I am a member of the genealogical societies in Hannover and Stuttgart and since 2007 chairman of the Association of German Speaking Professional Genealogists in Berlin.
